Utilizing CAD/CAM Technologies
The clinical and fabrication team at Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates committed to the use of CAD/CAM technology almost a decade ago. By using the OMEGA Tracer System, our practitioners are able to utilize highly accurate, shape-capture scanners to capture each patient’s individual shape without having to use the messy plaster that most other prosthetic companies use. The result is a highly repeatable, clean, quick, and accurate patient process that provides amazingly detailed patient information to our fabrication team who then uses this information to create each patient’s custom orthotic or prosthetic device.
The POA clinical team often employs their CAD/CAM expertise in caring for patients who have the following conditions:
- Plagiocephaly (cranial remolding orthosis)
- Transtibial limb loss (below knee prosthetic)
- Transfemoral limb loss (above knee prosthetic)
- Transradial limb loss (below elbow prosthetic)
